Tony and Tara Milliken, the heart behind The Old Milliken Store in Bethpage, Tennessee, have built more than just a business—they’ve created a place where history, hospitality, and Southern flavors come together. 

Tara, an avid lover of history, had dreamed of opening a restaurant for as long as she could remember. Her passion for the past and her love for cooking were deeply influenced by her mother, who was highly skilled in the kitchen. 
Upon visiting Charleston, she and Tony fell in love with its charm, history, and rich culinary traditions. Inspired by that experience, they decided to create a place that blended Tara’s love of history with her gift for making people feel at home. The Old Milliken Store embodies that vision, offering a rare glimpse into the goold ole days while subtly incorporating modern times. 

Tara’s nurturing spirit is felt by every customer who walks through the door, ensuring they leave not just with a full stomach, but with a sense of warmth and belonging. Tony and Tara have built more than just a restaurant—they’ve created a gathering place that brings people together, just like the traditions they hold dear.

Tony and Tara, both raised in Sumner County, have been married for 27 years and have six children and one grandchild.
